1.Understading
Use the Feynman techniques :
Try to ask yourself many times and try to explain what you learn to a child.
There are some general tips about using the techniques:
- Keep the language simple
- Drill down to the essence (If you did, you could only use few words to explain the questions.)
2.Remembering
Active recall
- Try to test yourself.
Through actual self-testing, encourage your brain to actively search for and retrieve knowledge. - For example: When you read a book,at the end of every paragraph, you could stop and ask yourself: "what I've read?".
The most important thing is trying to trust this the process, even though it might be a bit slow. - Reason: Actively searching for and outputting knowledge is far more effective than simply cramming information into your brain. (It's better to be active than passive.)
Take notes
during class
- Cornell Note Taking System: Take the way of making questions and asking yourself to take notes instead of the traditional mode of simply recording knowledge points.
- Taking notes in class may be inefficient, but it helps you stay awake during the class.
3.Focusing
Music ?
- If you want to listen to music while studying, just go ahead and listen to it.
- When the environment for exam preparation is similar to that during the exam, you are more likely to perform better in the examination room.
Reduce distraction
- The most important thing is enjoying the work you are doing.
- Keep away from your mobile phone.
- You can use the Tomato timer or something else. (play with your friends)
- Remember : We should use a technique as a tool rather than being a salve to the technique.
4.Others
- Physical health is the most important. Try to keep a balance between your life and study.
- It's better to be active than passive.
- Have an understanding of the general content rather than getting bogged down in details.
